Old Business: Minutes of the February 20, 2019 town meeting were presented. President Clough made a motion to approve the February 20, 2019 minutes as presented, which was seconded by Commissioner Ward. The Finance Report for January, 2019 was reviewed. President Clough made a motion to approve the January Financial Report as presented. A second by Commissioner Ward and the motion passed.

Trap Hill Ditch: No Report

Sheriff’s Department: No Report

Town Managers Report:

  • Work in Town Office Wednesday Mornings.
  • Approved bills for Heather to pay. Purchased W-2 forms for 2018 tax year.
  • Codes Enforcement around Town Weekly. Verified ownership, document violation and sent letters to property owners
  • Beth Hussein from SERCAP has committed to assisting me with a search for grant funding with regard to Marvin Memorial Church being renovated into a Town Hall/Meeting space.
  • January 24-Attended an Eastern Shore Association of Municipalities Dinner and met with legislators.
  • January 30-Attended a Government Mapping Workshop in Ridgely.
  • Updated info on website with our web designer Chris Petrini at www.adigitalmind.com.
  • Met with Town Attorney Patrick Thomas and Commissioner DeMoss with regard to the sewer agreement.
  • Reviewed Barclay Town Rentals-revised cover letter and rental application

Sewer Project:The Commissioners reviewed correspondence from the Town of Sudlersville and the county that pertain to the sewer project. Project Purpose and Summary, Proposed System Plans and area, and other financing info. After some discussion- Joey made a motion, which was seconded by Bill to appoint Commissioner DeMoss as liaison for any meetings pertaining to the sewer project with the Town Attorney, Town of Sudlersville or Queen Anne’s County. The motion passed.

Highway User Funds: Virginia attached letter from MDOT with figures for estimated Highway User Revenue for Fiscal Year’s 2019 (1,696.51) and 2020 (8,550.84).

MML: Virginia shared the schedule for the Maryland Municipal League Conference scheduled to be held June 23-25, 2019. All 3 commissioners plan to attend. Joey stated that he would lie to be signed up for the Parade of Flags.

Tax Differential/Tax Set-Off meeting is scheduled to be held March 14, 2019 with County Finance Director Jonathan Seeman at 5:00pm. Virginia reviewed figures for the 2018 report and it was stated that nothing has changed. One of the Commissioners plans to attend along with Virginia.

REEB-Joey expressed his concern for the employees of REEB loitering and littering during their lunch/break times. He has contacted their Human Resource Department. 

David Taylor, A Town Resident asked for more time getting his property cleaned up. He also stated that two vehicle accidents have occurred in is field.
