Barclay Maryland May 20th, 2020​  (Town Meeting Recap)

Commission President Norman Clough called the meeting to order at 7:00pm and we recited the Pledge of Allegiance and announced Robert’s Rule’s of Order.

Old Business: Minutes of the May 20, 2020 town meeting were presented. (No meetings held in March or April due to Covid-19 Pandemic). President Clough made a motion to approve the May 20, 2020 minutes as submitted, which was seconded by Commissioner Ward. The Finance Report for March/April, 2020 was reviewed. President Clough made a motion to approve the March/April, 2020 Financial Report as presented. A second by Commissioner Ward and the motion passed.

Sheriff’s Department– No Report

 

Town Managers Report:

Sewer Project-Commissioner DeMoss reported that the Maryland Department of the Environment stated that the Fiscal Year 2021 Capital Budget provides grant funding up to $3,140,000 for the Town of Barclay Sewer Project.

Election-The Town Election for Barclay was scheduled to be held June 8, 2020. At the File to Run deadline, there was only one encumbant that filed. The Barclay Charter states that should only one person file, a Town Election process can be waived. Congratulations Commissioner Clough for another 3-year term in office.

Planning & Zoning Board– Commissioner Clough nominated Robin McKinney to fill the vacancy spot on the Planning & Zoning Commission. Commissioner DeMoss seconded the motion, which was passed. Ms. McKinney accepted and she was sworn in.

There being no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at: 7:30pm.
